I have been keeping track of a few of the funny things Scarlett has done or said lately, and I figured we should end the year with them:
* I call Rob "honey" quite often, and Scarlett has picked up on this. She tries Dad, and if that doesn't get his attention, she calls him honey.
* Whenever we are running errands, she tells me "I need fries and a soda. And some nuggets. Get Dotor Pepper, Mom!"
* Rob had been working on a few things around the house and was joking about how much work he had done one evening, I said "Oh, you poor Cinderella". Scarlett thought that was hilarious and every now and then calls him Cinderella.
* When asked what her name is by an elderly woman at the gym, Scarlett said "My name Scarlett" (but she pronounces it SH-arlett). The woman said, "oh, hi, Charlotte!" To which Scarlett very boldly replied- "NO! My name Scarlett!" Again, pronounced SH-arlett. The poor old woman was really confused.
* After we had taken a shower one morning, Scarlett pointed to her chest and said, "I have little boobies, Mom, you have big boobies!" I told her when she got older her boobies would grow. She looked at me for a minute, then said "No, I like my boobies little".
* When asked what she wants to name baby sister, she always says "Cinderella!"
* She walked around the house one day repeatedly saying "Ladies and Gentlemen!" in her best showman's voice.
* She sat on her little car one day, leaned back, and then yelled "Start your engines!"
* She is always telling me, "I a big girl, Mom."
* When we are at my parents house, or even on the way there, she asks me if she can have soda, or cheetos. If I tell her no, she says, "Ok, Mom. I'll just ask Nama."
*Aunt Ashley asked her one day what her favorite kind of soda was, she said "MY soda!" And later admitted "Dotor Pepper."
* Scarlett did a not-so-nice thing to her little friend Xander a few nights ago. I took her in another room to talk about it, Yo Gabba Gabba was on in the background and amidst sobs she started wiggling like crazy because the Gabbas had said "now wiggle! And freeze!" She wiggled, and then froze- once she froze the sobs returned.
* We were heading to lunch with some friends one day and I told Scarlett the restaurant had pizza, pasta and salads- I asked what she wanted to eat. She said "Hmm... pizza and pasta. We can share, Mom!"
* Rob and I were having a discussion in the car one day, maybe bickering back and forth a little, and Scarlett suddenly yelled "Daddy! Stop talking my Mommy!" I smirked, thinking she was taking my side- but she quickly added "And Mommy- you no talk my honey! Ok?"
* A few days before Christmas, Scarlett found a few of her presents. We finally got her to put them away and convinced her she would get them Christmas morning. She fell down later that evening and while she was crying, told me "Get my presents- my presents make me feel better".
* Christmas day we were getting ready for lunch and Scarlett kept climbing on to the counter to get candy. I told her no more, but she persisted. My Dad came over and said "Scarlett, Mom said no more candy", to which she saucily replied "My Mom not choose for me!"
* After opening her presents Christmas morning, she was figuring out how to use her new camera. She stood in front of my parents and said "Nama, say cheese!" My Dad leaned out of the way, and Scarlett waved one hand at him and said, "No! Bof of you!"
* While hanging out at my parents house one evening while Kyle and Ashley were still in town, we apparently weren't paying enough attention to her because Scarlett suddenly yelled "Watch me peoples!!"
* As I am writing this post, Rob is getting the family room ready for our little New Year's celebration, I heard Scarlett get mad at him for putting something away, so she is now crying on the stairs saying, "Mommy, I crying on the stairs- come get me".
I love.love.love you, little girl. You make me laugh every day.
