Scarlett is SUCH a big girl- she has really become my right-hand-man in almost everything. She is so excited for Baby Sister to join us so she can "rocka her to sleep" and "change her diaper- get all the poopies off a her". I can't wait.
One of the big changes Scarlett has made recently is the decision to potty train. It's been over a week since she told me she didn't want a diaper, she wanted panties. We wear panties all day, but wear a diaper for nap and bed time. She has had only two or three accidents, and LOVES to do the potty dance after she goes (anyone seen Look Who's Talking? Pee-pee in the pot-tay! A pee-pee in the pot-tay!).
The other big change has been her move from the nursery to her big girl room. It has actually gone fairly well. Who wouldn't want to sleep in this bed!?
The first night was rough- Scarlett kept getting out of bed, we'd put her back in... and we did this one million times. Rob finally said "You don't want to go back in the baby's crib, do you?" To which she happily replied, "YEP!" He looked at me and said, "that sure backfired."
The second night, she made Rob sleep in the bed with her. All night. Good thing we got her a full. The third night, same thing, only I laid with her until she was asleep, then snuck out. The fourth night, we refused to lay with her- she kept coming out again, and then, for some reason, after we closed her door, she thought we locked it, so she sat at the door crying and begging "get me out!" for about 20 minutes before giving up and going to bed. That is where we came up with our plan- rather than constantly putting her back in bed (sorry, Super Nanny, I just can't do it), she gets 3 chances. If she comes out of her room the third time, she knows we close the door, and we put one of those baby proofing things on the door handle so she can't open it. So mean! But it has worked phenomenally well. Nap time and bed time, she knows she gets 3 chances. She always takes all 3 chances, but once we close the door, she goes to sleep.
It is literally impossible to get mad at this little face... she is so dang cute. Even when she wakes up in the middle of the night and demands that one of us lay with her. It was me last night. She needed an orange at 4am. And then asked for the iPad. I drew the line there.
I sure hope her sister gets those big, blue eyes.

In this picture, she looks a lot like your mom!
We 'lock' Mikey in his room too, to keep him from coming out a million times. It works great! I don't think it's mean :) Scarlett is a cutie! Can't wait to see pics of the new baby!
