Cruise; December 26th

We were usually the first ones at breakfast the whole week.  For some reason, even though the kids were not getting naps, and were staying up late, they were up at 6:30 every morning.
Sydney is a wonderful food sharer.  She always wants someone to try what she's having.
Scarlett made an impressive tower one morning.  And yes, we did hoard cereal boxes all week as safety net snacks.

The ships can't actually dock in Belize, so we had to wait our turn to take a ferry boat from the ship.
Sydney enjoyed some tickles from her sister on the ride over.

Rather than plan an excursion in advance, we decided we would hook up with some locals and have them take us to a nice beach for the day.  Unfortunately, we met up with a group who told us they were taking us to Goff Island (one we had researched and wanted to go to), but in reality, they took us somewhere else entirely.  After questioning where we had been dropped (and quickly left by the boat that dropped us), we found out from the woman running the little cafe that we were in fact on Spanish Island.  An Island that had been pretty much destroyed by hurricanes.  The water was only knee deep several yards out, and the ocean floor was covered with sharp sticks, making it difficult to do much.

Scarlett made the best of a bad situation and made a friend and had fun.  We played some sand volleyball, and waited for the water taxi to pick us up and get us back to our ship.  The people running this operation were really sketchy, and we were worried they weren't going to pick us up.  Not our favorite stop on this little adventure...
And yet, we were in Belize.  Who can't make that a great time?  When you're with the people you love- you can enjoy anything.  Even the fear of being deserted on a random island, somewhere off the coast of Belize.

Lucky for us, we made it back safely.
